Unbridled - Horse, Equine, Western Art by SJ Merwin

Unbridled - Horse, Equine, Western Art
Unbridled - Horse, Equine, Western Art, painting by Sandra Merwin

About This Painting:
"Unbridled" is a lovely word meaning spontaneous and having free will. Horses have been the symbols of power for humans since the first cave drawings. Our language shows the connection we have to horses. "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth" is an admonishment to accept a gift without evaluating it. When you look into a horses mouth, you know the truth about the horse; its age, condition, health etc. This painting "Unbridled" shows the power of the horses in a herd. Painting the mass of horses increases the power until the white spirit horse stands out. This painting is reminder to us, that when we handle our own personal power, we need to remember the spirit.
