Three Blue Horse Dancers - Equine, Akhal Teke, Contemporary Montana Artist

Three Blue Horse Dancers - Equine, Akhal Teke, Contemporary Montana Artist
Three Blue Horse Dancers - Equine, Akhal Teke, Contemporary Montana Artist, painting by Sandra Merwin

About This Painting:
Three Blue Horse Dancers is very subtle and sophisticated in color. The horse on the left is metallic which shines in the light.

The inspiration for this painting is the Akhal Teke horse, an ancient horse with a face that is longer than the wild mustangs I often paint. These ancient horses remind me of some of the paintings on the Chauvet Cave walls in France. Art experts say that the prehistoric artists who painted these walls had an understanding of line, form and shading.

Media: Oil, Ink, Acrylic on canvas panel
Size: 10 in X 8 in (25.4 cm X 20.3 cm)

This is gorgeous! Love the subtle colors and the light. No one can do this like you can. It has lifted my spirits, as one who has been "putting one foot in front of the other..." Thanks!
